What is a BSS ZINE? This is a highly experimental game. Buy it, enjoy it, love it! This book is printed on recycled staple bound paper and is designed to be the foundation of a game concept. Zine games are never as in-depth as a mainstream game and are designed to be played in a very casual way. Sometimes they may contain experimental ideas or concepts.
LAST MILE is a solo miniatures game about surviving in a dead world. You'll guide a lone survivor across an unknown road as they try to make it home, one mile at a time. Each mile brings a new challenge, and you'll need to manage your health, your dwindling supplies, and the horrors that follow you in the dust.
Using a standard deck of playing cards, players draw from the Road Deck to generate a randomized section of your path. Every card represents a new "mile" filled with hazards, enemies, or moments of quiet tension.
The Road: The game is played out on a small table (ideally 12"x20") where you physically move your miniature across the terrain. Each card might bring enemies, harsh terrain, or fleeting opportunities.
Rules Light: Actions are resolved using a simple D10 mechanic, roll equal to or above your stat to succeed. Combat is fast and deadly. Enemies use basic rules and act automatically based on simple behaviors.
Survival: You'll manage two vital tracks - Health and Crave. Health is your life. Crave is your need. If either hits zero, your journey might end. You'll find gear, take injuries, and make hard decisions to keep going.
What you need to supply yourself: - 1 Survivor miniature
- 3-5 Bandit miniatures (One melee and one ranged type)
- A standard deck of playing cards
- A handful of D10 dice
- A 12"x20" play area
- Terrain to theme out your journey. ( 1-2 buildings, plenty of cars, trees, rubble)
- A pen and paper to track stats like Health, Crave, and gear
